The NAQCC Spring 2006 Rag Chew Award Final Results: Call Number of rag chews K3WWP 32 KI4DEF 18 KD2MX 5 Soapbox: K3WWP - I got most of my rag chews during the month of May after a slow start, then the finish was slower than the start. Still the 32 true rag chews plus innumerable 20-29 minute QSO's were very interesting. I think the large number in May came because of my using a straight key all month for the May challenge. I find it easier to rag chew with a SK than a keyer for whatever reason. KD2MX - I had lots of 20 minute+ QSOs in the log but not many over 30 minutes. It seemed the band always shifted or something prevented me from hitting the magic 30-minute mark. Haven't had much time for ragchewing the last few weeks as I've been busy with the soldering iron. Comments: Tom wants to encourage all members to engage in rag chewing during the spring season this year. This award should appeal to those who want to engage in club activities but don't care for our sprints or challenges for whatever reason.
