SOAPBOX:

K3WWP - (3) It was a bad WX day here today (4/23) so I thought I'd finish off the April Fools event and complete my 3rd round. It was rather easy even though the bands weren't all that good and not too much activity to be found. I didn't know how to rate this event when Tom thought it up. I figured it wouldn't be either too hard nor too easy. I guess it turned out to be easier than I thought. With some days left yet, maybe I'll try to refine my listings to come up with another endorsement or two. I found the event to be lots of fun, and it certainly made me a little more active on the bands, and that is the bottom line purpose of these events - to increase CW activity on the bands.

N2AUR - (1) I didn't know what to expect in this event, so I started off slow. In the next round I'm aiming for 10 states in 10 hours (John still has me beat by a mile). Too bad the Spring event wasn't this month. I could have gotten all 6 letters of "SPRING" in my first 6 contacts in the SPDX contest! (3) I had the 10 states worked, but I thought "This is too easy" so, I started all over again contacting only FISTS members. This increased the challenge.

AF4LQ - (1) Radio used was an OHR100A at 4 watts to an endfed 130ft wire configured as an inv-L. Will see what goes for the next two if time permits. Thanks very much and hope to see you and John in the 90/40 Sprint next week. Take care.

K2EKM - (3) This last go-around was much more of a challenge than round 2 (which I got thanks to the NAQCC Sprint). The challenge was in working 10 DIFFERENT states - had many duplicate states during the run. Conditions today (Saturday 4/30) are terrible, but managed to eke out the last few (largely thanks to the To The Field event.
