Soapbox: K3WWP - As stated in the rules, no minimum number of QSO's for this challenge, so I've already mastered the challenge with one QSO in the 40M 'Novice' band. However, time and conditions permitting, I hope to get many more such QSO's during the remainder of the month. This is going to be a busy month for me though, so I don't know how much time I'll have to devote to this very worthwhile challenge. - Well the month is over and unfortunately I was right. I just couldn't find the time. Just about every day I was only able to get on long enough to get my daily QSO to keep my 'streak' alive, and then had to QRT.

WB3DSJ - It was tough to make contacts as the band was very noisy all month (whine whine whine :-)

W5ESE - I made several Novice band QSOs this month, several over the Labor Day long weekend and a few in the Fists CW organizations' 'Get Your Feet Wet Weekend'. I also checked into the Texas Slow Net 6 times.

RULES:
OLD-TIMERS: Work as many newcomers to CW as possible during the month of September. No minimum number of contacts. A newcomer being defined as follows:

1. Anyone who received their first ham license during the past 3 years.
2. Any ham who is under the age of 25 no matter when they got their first license.
3. Anyone you work in the 'Novice' segments of the ham bands, 3675-3725, 7100-7150, 21100-21200, and 28100-28500 kHz.

All QSO's must be 2x CW, and you must be running QRP power. The NEWCOMER can be running any power level.

NEWCOMERS: If you fit in category 1 or 2 or you have never operated HF outside the Novice bands, your objective is to work as many OLD-TIMERS or other NEWCOMERS as possible.

All QSO's must be 2x CW, and NEWCOMERS can be running any power level.

All who work at least one newcomer will be listed on the web site and earn one point towards our 'Participation Award'.

Since you will be working newcomers to CW, remember to keep your sending speed down if necessary. Although it is not required, try to inform the ham you work about the NAQCC and our mission of preserving CW on the ham bands.

LOGS: Tell us if you are a NEWCOMER or an OLD-TIMER and send a list with the stations worked and the qualifying info for each station, i.e. age, first licensed, frequency, or OT (if you're a NEWCOMER). Send to KB3LFC at:

E-mail: pix_email_wy3h (1K) You must type that address into your email program. No attachments - keep the log in the body of the message.

Postal mail: Tom Mitchell, KB3LFC, RD6 Box 122A, Kittanning, PA 16201
All entries must be postmarked or email dated before Oct 10, 2005.
