As VE3HUR said, working the stations was easy, but arranging them took some time. However it really didn't take all that much time. To make all the officers' calls (except VA3RKM who is now an ex-officer) took only about 20 minutes with my Access log file, some SQL programming, and an Excel spreadsheet. Without those aids though, I'm sure it would take quite a bit longer. I used all but two of the members I worked during the month to make my calls. KC2EGL - This was a fun challenge. It was more involed because you had to work some after you made all your QSO's. I am glad I thought of it. I had to use my one remaining brain cell. Hi-Hi!!! I had to choose between which 2 calls I would use for the second call. I decided to go with the officer's call since it was worth 3 more points than the other call I could have used. I hope this challenge becomes a annual event. 73 Mike KD2MX - I probably could've constructed a few more calls but I had had enough fun manipulating letters PREMISE: From Mike, KC2EGL, #1236 - Construct as many members' call signs using characters from QSO's worked during the month. The QSO's must be with other club members. TIME FRAME: Jun 1, 2007 0000Z through Jun 30, 2007 2400Z RULES: Make as many QSO's as required to construct call signs of members as in the following example: A call sign may be constructed only once. A call sign used in construction may be used only once. Constructing your own call sign - 5 points. Constructing officers' (KB3LFC, K3WWP, W2LJ, K5DUZ, VA3RKM, KD2MX, AA4W, VA3RJ) call signs - 4 points. Constructing call signs of members within your own state - 3 points. All other call signs - 1 point. To construct the call sign KC2EGL you must have 6 QSO's, 1 character per call sign used. KC2EGL would be K3WWP, KB3LFC, W2LJ, K2EKM, KA2KGP, and AF4LQ. This would be worth one point if you reside outside of KC2EGL's state which is Pennsylvania. If you live in KC2EGL's state it would be 3 points. Only one point level per call sign constructed. AWARDS: A certificate goes to the three members scoring the most points. Also to the one not in the top three points who makes the most QSO's. PARTICIPATION AWARD AND WEB LISTING: You must make at least 1 qualifying call sign and report it to get a Participation Point and a web listing. However you can get only 1 point this month even if you participate in both challenges. LOGS: For your report, list the call signs constructed with the call signs used to construct them along with the point value for each call sign and the total points. You may also include comments about the challenge. Please preface any comments you want posted with "SOAPBOX:" so we will know what you want posted and what is private.
