Soapbox:

KB3AAG - I enjoyed this one as all it required was to operate as I normaly do. I figure I will be at the bottom of the list but that is fine as I am not much for competing anyhow. I am sending this now as I will be out of town the rest of the month. Besides if you put it in now I will be on top untill the other logs come in! I had a lot of qsos that were just one or two minutes short of making it up a class. Thanks again for all your efforts putting on these things for us. 73 72 Frank

KU4A - For this month's participation point, I had planned to work the Sprint. But, I forgot. So, I got a late start on the operating challenge. Got it done Sunday afternoon, March 29. Whew, that was close!

W1OH - It suddenly occurred to me that I had all the contacts needed to submit for this month's challenge, so here's my tally. I should pay more attention to the challenges - no doubt I've missed some before for which I would have qualified just through normal operating.

K3WWP - I'm in the group above who just used their normal monthly operating habits for this challenge. I didn't go out of my way to run up the score, just took things as they came.

N8XMS - Doctor appointments and a hospital stay limited my operating time but "it's not whether you win or lose, but how you play the game that counts". And the playing is always fun! 73 to all. (Hope you're feeling better now - K3WWP)

WD0CNZ - This is my first Challenge as a member. It was fun since I had been out of Ham Radio since 1983 or so. Got bitten bad by the bug again, BIG TIME. All contacts were from an FT-817ND and MP-1 Super Antenna sitting in the family room. Summer will bring a new antenna and a real ham shack. Had a blast with this and QRP. I look forward to more challenges and a lot more fun. 73 Don (Welcome back to the best hobby of all, especially when you do it with CW at QRP power! - K3WWP)

VE3HUR - March is a good month around here. The weather improves, the bands get better, and there is good propagation to some areas that are having QSO parties. Most NAQCC challenges heavily favour contests but this one gives some, although not enough, credit for rag chews making it a bit more friendly to those who have deficient contesting abilities (like me). The BERU contest, and NC, WI, and VA QSO parties provided the lion's share of the contest QSOs. (When did you eat and sleep in March, Don? - K3WWP)

W2JEK - most of my qso's were made in contests or with dx. used my yaesu ft-840 for all except 17 qso in the nj qrp homebrewer sprint. was great fun. 72 and 73 don younger w2jek #1135

KQ1P - Conditions gradually improved at my QTH in March and it got easier to keep a QSO going for 30 minutes or more. This was my first attempt at a NAQCC Challenge and plan to try more. This month is the first time I had a successful contact with a reported RST = 119. It is a pleasure to keep meeting new QRP CW enthusiasts.

PREMISE:
Very simple. Make as many points as you can by making QRP QSO's using a simple wire antenna. Different types of QSO's will be assigned different point values.

TIME FRAME:
Mar 1, 2009 0000Z through Mar 31, 2009 2400Z

RULES:
You must use QRP and the other station can be using any power. Only QSO's made while you use a simple wire antenna count.

Make as many points as possible counting as follows:

A 30 minute or longer QSO - 5 points
A 15 to 30 minute QSO - 4 points
A DX QSO - 3 points
A contest (or sprint) QSO - 2 points
Any other type of QSO - 1 point

Notes:
Count only the highest possible point value for a QSO. That is, a DX QSO in a contest counts 3 points, NOT 5 or 2. A 30 minute DX QSO is 5 points, NOT 8 or 3.

Checking into a net counts only 1 point even though you stay checked in more than 15 minutes. If you QSY and pass traffic, that's an additional 1 point for each time you do so.

AWARDS:
A certificate goes to the three highest scoring members.

PRIZE:
A set of 24 crystals covering 160 through 10 meters donated by Rich N4ESS of Expanded Spectrum Systems.

The person making the highest point total in the challenge is the winner this month. In case of a tie, the prize goes to the one with the most 5 point QSO's. If still a tie, then the most 4 point QSO's, and so on. If a tie remains through the most 1 point QSO's, a drawing will decide the winner.

Next month for our April challenge we will give away a duplicate second set of crystals via a drawing of all eligible participants.

PARTICIPATION AWARD AND WEB LISTING:
Anyone making 50 or more points and submitting a report gets a Participation Point and a web listing.

LOGS:
For your report, list the number of each type of QSO and the total poins for that type. Also include an overall total as in this example (in red):
