Soapbox:

K3WWP - I didn't even think about our FD challenge this year. Shame on me. Just too much else going on here, mostly NAQCC related. Takes a lot of time and effort to keep a 4650 member club running smoothly, and I hope I'm doing that. I only worked K4OO with my 930 mW to keep my mW streak going at 58 days, then Mike KC2EGL/QRP with his own call and our local club call K3TTK. I don't belong to the club because of their negative attitude towards CW. However they are always glad to have Mike as their CW Op to run up their score for FD. Back to work now.

W2JEK - used my ten-tec 1380 at 3 watts with a solar charged battery and an off center fed dipole at 25 ft for the natural power bonus at my clubs field day site. call sign was k2bar. 72 and 73 don younger w2jek #1135

N8XMS - I had fun with a portable operation on Saturday using my Elecraft KX1 and a 40-ft wire tossed up into a tree. With 2.5-3 watts out on 20 and 40 meters I worked 31 states, 2 Canadian provinces, and a total of 36 ARRL sections.

WY7N - FD snuck up on me this year too. I must have had 10 things I should have done, but time for only one or two. I chose to spend time with my son on Friday night, instead of preparing for FD. On Saturday, I chose to visit my daughter and have a barbeque with the entire family. FD was a distant 3rd on my list. Nevertheless, in keeping with my tradition of going overboard when it comes to FD, I spent all day designing a transportable 40M/20M wire beam using fiberglass spreaders. Very late Saturday evening, I finally decided to give up on it and used my home station to work a few; then I went to bed.

KA2KGP - My head is still ringing from the QRM! I operated 2B, 5w. QRP into either a 5 band dipole up 25', or a 5 band gnd. mtd. vertical at my camp trailer on battery/solar emergency power. We (KA2KGP & N2COD) racked up 86 QSO's. My brother Mike was second op, operating on 6 & 10 m. exclusively. I peeled off his QSO's for this submission.

PREMISE:
The annual FD Challenge is one of our most popular challenges so far according to the number of logs submitted. You work as many different states as you can in field day, either from your home station or out in the field.

TIME FRAME:
Jun 26, 2010 1800Z through Jun 27, 2010 2100Z

RULES:
You must use QRP and the other station can be using any power. You can use any antenna you want.

If you are part of a multi-op FD, no matter what call sign is used, even if it is your own, only the QSO's MADE BY YOU PERSONALLY count.

AWARDS:
A certificate goes to the highest state total from a home station and to the highest state total from a station in the field. If you happen to work all 50 states, we'll send you an NAQCC WAS certificate free of the normal $3.00 charge. However for the free WAS certificate, you must have been using only simple wire antennas.

PARTICIPATION AWARD AND WEB LISTING:
Anyone submitting a report gets a Participation Point and a web listing, even if you work just 1 state.

However you can get only 1 point this month even if you participate in both challenges.

LOGS:
For your report, just list the states worked alphabetically by 2-letter state abbreviations. Also tell us if you worked from HOME or PORTABLE so we may put you in the correct category.

Please preface any soapbox comments with "SOAPBOX:" so we will know what you want posted and what is private.
