WU1V: This was a fun Challenge. I haven't been on the air for several months, and getting back to QRP was nice. I made the Challenge in 6 days without a lot of effort even though propagation was generally so-so. Most QSOs here in Massachusetts were US and mainly east of the Mississippi, though made contacts with Germany, France, UK, Hungary, Slovenia, Macedonia, Italy, Argentina, Cayman Is., Costa Rica, and Dominican Republic. It's amazing what QRP can accomplish. Many stations operate with hundreds of watts and are suprised to hear I'm only 5 watts and give me great RST reports. I guess if you're into racking up mega-points in contests huge power output is the way to go, but I'm not into contesting so I'm happy with QRP. 72, Rick
K3WWP: It took MUCH longer to get WAC this way (12 days) compared to my best time of getting an actual WAC (9 minutes sans Pangaea and Gondwana of course - HI). The hang-up letters this month were of all things C and D which added about 4 days to my time. I decided with the poor DX conditions of late, I wouldn't go for my usual all DX stations solution so only about half the letters came from DX (actually 48 of 86 or 56%). I could shuffle things around to make the percentage better, but I'm not going to bother. The bottom line - another great NAQCC challenge. I just love these things, especially the alphabet ones. They sure were a great idea from NAQCC President Tom WY3H who got them started with the Turkey challenge back in November 2004. And now Gary K1YAN is continuing the tradition coming up with some really innovative ones. Thanks Tom and Gary - also all the stations who have provided the letters (and numbers) over the years. Now I've got to get busy and finish off the NAQCC European Chapter challenge. I need 9 more letters/numbers there. I sure better finish this month's one since the words were based on my suggestion of having a challenge dealing with Formula 1 auto racing.
I5SKK: This is the first time I partecipate to the NAQCC challenges and I was able to do both: WAC challenge and European challenge and it was really nice and a good opportunity to be in radio for QRP and looking also 2xQRP QSO's and I was able to complete in two days using type activity day of European chapter and the field day of Mountain QRP club for I1BAY that was a veru friend of mine and this was my attempt to honour a very good friend and a really Old Man and CW QRP Op! I hope to be in next challenges and thanks for this opportunity to stay in Radio 72 Alex I5SKK ex I0SKK
G3JFS: Running 5watts, doublet antenna or a sloping end fed wire with a remote SG230 Smartuner
PA0XAW: Was not so easy as it looks to get all the As and Es, even the C was difficult for me to find; but a nice challenge!
SM5MEK: I think this was the hardest challenge so far, lots of E and D, hardest was to get all N, E, T. Anyway nice to have this activation, gives an carot to do more QSOs.
K0ALN: FT817nd and Inv. V at 35ft - Fun challenge, but definitely not easy. Finally got my last 2 Es at about 2000 hours on the 31st! Very poor Band conditions during the last 10 days or so. Looking forward to all the fun in September.
KF7WNS: Fun challenge-took awhile to get my last "Es"
N8XMS: This was one of those months where life just got in the way of having radio fun. I did not have very much on-air time and ended up with only 4 continents. Hopefully September will give a little more free time.
K1IEE: Another great challenge. Hope the bands hold for September. Thanks to all Dick
N1JI: I didn't have much time to get on the air this month, so I found myself spending a couple hours on the afternoon of August 31 trying to work a callsign with an "I" in it. I was determined to get at least one word in the challenge.
KD0V: Between work, vacation, and band conditions, I was unable to finish the August Challenge. Between work, vacation, and band conditions, I was unable to finish the August Challenge.
PA7PYR: Poor propagation and a lot of E and A but a nice challenge. I am happy there are a lot of special calls.
W2JEK: THIS WAS A GOOD CHALLENGE ESPECIALLY WITH 18 LETTER A'S. IT DID KEEP ME BUSY ON THE AIR DESPITE SOME POOR CONDITIONS.
Conditions bad? Pileups huge? The guy calling on top of the DX doesn't quite understand UP? Yeah, but I still would like a QRP WAC certificate on my wall. While this may not be "THE" WAC certificate, it sure is the next best thing. Complete this challenge and a piece of WAC (challenge) wallpaper will be yours to display.
The first day of the month 0000Z through the last day of the month 2400Z
Just make ALL these words from the calls of stations you work:
The 86 total letters contain these different 18 letters A C D E F G H I L M N O P R S T U W.
A certificate and Participation Point go to everyone making ALL the words and submitting their report before the deadline.
A Participation Point goes to everyone making at least 1, but not all the words and submitting their report before the deadline.
A choice of an item made by master woodworker Gregg WB8LZG as shown on our prizes page here goes to someone selected via a random drawing from all who participate and submit a report for this month's challenge. A person can only win once, then they become ineligible for future drawings.
For your report, list the words you made and the station used for each letter in the word. The number of stations listed must be the same as the number of letters in each word, even though you use the same station for more than one letter as in:

Note how N2OD is listed for both the O and D.
You may also include comments about the challenge. Please preface any comments you want posted with "SOAPBOX:" so we will know what you want posted and what is private.
