PREMISE:
In May of 1942, Japanese Admiral Yamamoto sought to draw the American Pacific Fleet to their destruction by attacking Midway Island, a key to the defense of Pearl Harbor. A Japanese fleet of four carriers and supporting vessels sailed to initiate the attack. A team of US cryptanalysts at Pearl Harbor had broken the Japanese JN-25 naval code used to coordinate the attack and issued a warning. US Admiral Nimitz responded with a fleet of three carriers and supporting vessels.
The ensuing battle left the Japanese carrier fleet decimated and was the end of major Japanese offensive operations. The battle cost Japan 4 carriers, a heavy cruiser, 228 aircraft and 3,057 casualties while the US losses were one carrier, a destroyer, 145 aircraft and 340 casualties. RULES:
Just make ALL these words from calls of stations you work. No Contest or Sprint QSOs allowed. All QSOs must be made using CW and QRP The comments in parentheses are there just for information and are not part of the words to be made:

The 85 total letters contain these 19 different letters: A B D E G H I K M N O R S T U V W Y Z

You can use each letter in a call TWICE. For example you could use K3WWP for 2 K's, 4 W's, and 2 P's.

Subsequent QSO's with the same station cannot be used for additional letters. For example, no matter how many times you work K3WWP, you can only use his call for 8 of the letters in the words.

AWARDS:
A certificate and Participation Point go to everyone making ALL the words and submitting their report before the deadline.

A Participation Point goes to everyone making at least 1, but not all the words and submitting their report before the deadline.

PRIZES:
A choice of an item made by master woodworker Gregg WB8LZG as shown on our prizes page here goes to someone selected via a random drawing from all who participate and submit a report for this month's challenge. A person can only win once, then they become ineligible for future drawings.

LOGS:
For your report, list the words you made and the station used for each letter in the word. The number of stations listed must be the same as the number of letters in each word, even though you use the same station for more than one letter as in:

Note how N2OD is listed for both the O and D.

Soapbox:

K3WWP: I deviated from my usual tact of trying to do the challenge with all DX stations this month. I just took what came along so that I would have more time to enjoy the lovely June weather and not be stuck in the shack chasing letters. So I finished up on the 9th - pretty quick for so many letters. Now I need six letters/numbers to finish the European Chapter challenge. Also looking forward to the FD challenge. I'll be using N3AQC along with KC2EGL and WB3FAE (and maybe K3RLL) in a multi-op FD effort by our WPA Chapter. Hope to work you all there.

PA0XAW: Nice call signs for this challenge are OO9O and UT4UH. FB challenge! 73, Age

K1IEE: Was not sure I would accomplish this challenge with the poor band conditions for most of the month. I tried mostly around 1100 and 0100 UTC hours. Thanks to all 73 Dick

N8XMS: My operating time this month was extremely limited and I fell far short on this challenge. I do think that it was rather appropriate that WW2LST was one of the stations that I worked for this important historical event from WW2.

K1YAN: Didn't make the whole list this month. Band conditions, thunderstorms and personal stuff held down the number of QSOs. Needed 9 Ss and only came up with 2.
