N2QFD - I only had time for 1 tonight then bed... 0430 comes fast! So, thanks Steven you were it. I couldn't let the sprint pass by. I loved working my dad N2NRA QRPp in the past and tonight was the first time I turned my Xeigu G106 down to low power which seems like a joke when max power is 5w! Low is 10% max Medium is 50% max High is a FULL 5 WATTS... when you need to knock the socks off someone... We'll sell you the full QRP but you'll only need the edge!!!
AB9BZ - Used the Trusdx @ 500mW to EFHW, thanks for the Sprint Have a good FD 72 ab9bz
NA1L - First time and worked fellow member of the Meriden Amateur Radio Club
WD4OHD - Very rough tonight on 40m in southeastern Tennessee. Very few mW signals heard and those were right at the noise level or even below it at times. Very few of them were hearing me either. Thanks to K9QEW for hanging in with me through my one QSO. Lots of QRM, static crashes, and storms in the vicinity, so I'm pulling the plug early. I hope others are having better luck.
K3RLL - Hello? Hello? Anybody out there? (GRIN) I could hear quite a few familiar ops but signals were particularly weak for this mW Sprint. Couldn't be the operator, however. ;-) Thanks so much Paul for saving my evening. 72, ... Don
WG8Y - Hi all, Was only on for a few minutes. Worked 3 NAQCC guys and had a short rag chew with a 100 watt station in NY. Ran my old FT-817D into my backyard HF6V vertical.
72 all From N.C. Mark WG8Y
N4MJ - QSB/QRN on 40m. Heard very little activity.
K9QEW - Tried 20m early no luck! All QSOs on 40m. 72/73s Daryl
K9DRP - What a tough night! Worked hard for my few contacts! I heard a lot more stations than could hear me (not sure what that should tell me). Gave up a little early due to the snap-crackle-pop.
WA4AAK - 40m and 80m were very noisy here in Alabama! Lots of static. Thank you WB9HFK, K1SN, K9QEW, and KC9IL (who worked me on 40 and 80)! I ran 1W to an EFHW on 40m, and a 130' doublet on 80m. 72, Evan
W0PWE - This was a great opportunity to put the old single band XCVRs I built 25 years ago on the air again. Storms nearby made noise and threatened to make me shut down but I held out until about 0200Z. There was only one station I couldn't copy- a zero call at about 0143Z. Sorry I missed you. Thanks for the milliwatt fun. 72 & CUL - Jerry - W0PWE
KD7DUG - No NAQCC contacts for the less than 1W. I had two QRO stations come back to me and we exchange information. Heard a faint station with PP in their call but we were not able to work each other.
K9NUD - Tonight was a little tough due to nearby storms. I can count at least 5 or 6 busted QSOs that couldn't eclipse the static crashes. Sorry! KX3 @ 1W using a cootie
N8HWV - Heard many of you but could not get out well enough for you to hear my 200 mW. Always fun. 20 W thru 20 dB attenuator, 80 m EFHW up 15 FT.
K4KRW - I felt lucky to get my 5 contacts tonight. Between equipment issues and also having to work through the first half of the sprint it was a rough night. Thanks everyone. Richard
N7QR - 10th mW sprint KX3 BY1 into K1EL in bug mode for the
first 1.5 hours. W0PWE gud sig from IA on a Watt!
Russ Portland OR
KC5F - When I sat down to fire up the rig, an NWS text came announcing a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for the next hour. Oh well, an hour later the lightning had stopped, so I jumped in. Strange to transmit and hardly have the Power Out meter budge! 15 QSOs on 40m in the next 30 minutes, fighting the storm static, and then only two more in the last half-hour. But better than I expected. Thanks, all, for the fun!
KN2G - Very crunchy tonight! I managed to stay in the game until the last minutes. KC3MIO was solid for almost 20 minutes on 80 and I landed him plus called in KN1H. 40 was most productive but 20 landed me 4 contacts. See you for FD!
KN1H - Missed the first hour due to family commitments. Lots of QRN and QSB and 339 reports on 40M, its great fun to work everyone with even less power than usual under these conditions! IC-7300 at 19.5V P-P into 50 ohm load = 950mw. Now that I'm powered completely by battery that occurs at 2% on the drive control, used to be 1%. 72, John, KN1H
W4NLT - Tough one tonight. Had limited time to operate and noise levels were high. Called several but they didn't read me. Thanks for the QSOs. 72 Andy
WB9HFK - 40M only this time out. The band was a bit noisier than normal. Thanks for the QRPp fun! 72, Mark WB9HFK
W9DWR - This was my first MW sprint. Not a lot of contacts, but a lot of fun!
K8NGW - Thunderstorms in the area limited me to hearing only the high power mW stations. :-) Still fun!
K3JZD - Storms and a noise level between S4 and S6 tonight. Made mw signal copy tough. Ran 500mw. I'm always amazed at what so little RF can do. All but two were on 40m - 80m was even noisier here. 72, Jody - K3JZD
KC9IL - Lots of storms around us this evening. Was a real test of the ears. Thanks to all for hanging in there.
K1SN - Very enjoyable, and an excellent opportunity to relearn weak signal reception techniques yet again. My heartfelt thanks to those patient souls who repeated their callsign and information again and again until I had a solid copy.
K6GPB - Was not able to make any contacts. Heard KD7DUG but was unable to make contact with him. Did make the RBN on 20 and 40, so <1 watt is possible. Look forward to next time. Never give up.
WT4U - Had a break in the thunderstorms long enough to get on, but it was a tad noisy. Who needs 5 watts?
N5CTC - Actually heard two stations, one in Utah and one in Florida but neither heard me. One a club member and the other not. Oh well this was a first try on the air. Guess it was practicing on the air instead of into a dummy load so that's a step in the right direction anyway, thank you.
KA8VZB - Ten-Tec Argosy with 500 mW and a wire makes for a lot of fun thanks to everyone on the other end! 72, Joe
KC3MIO - KX3 @ one watt into 288' loop up 30'. A little discouraging at the start but things picked up. Nothing on 20 but activity on 40. After I worked all I could hear on 40, went to 80 for three more. Tnx to KN1H for sticking with a tough QSO on 80. There were a few ops that I could hear but couldn't hear me and there was one, I think on 7.038 whose call sign (I think KA?) that I just couldn't copy - SRI. In general, bands seemed pretty quiet from NE PA. Tnx for the contacts, 73/72, Rich.
KA2KGP - 20 & 80 were weak here in WNY, but 40 m. was OK for some Mw contacts. Rig: IC-7000 at 1w. into a G5RV up 20 ft. w/ old WWII German Junkers strait key. Enjoy the summer ! 73
W8GG - Hello Fellow Sprinters ! Gud Condx fer a mw sprint. I fired up my neglected FT817 at a mighty 1 watt to trap dipole @ 30 ft. Used a Vibro-keyer standard that has a custum knob es finger piece. Started out on 20m es didnt hear a peep. went to 40m es worked KC3MIO. heard several stns that didnt hear me. Went back to 20m fer a quick CQ es found KC7DM fer a gud one. Back to 40 to find K9NUD. SRI i had to QRT early as 40m seemed to be doing well. 3 QSOs in 1/2 hour with Flea pwr is about as gud as it gets. Very satisfing to grab a few other Peanut Whistles with only a battery es 1 watt. Hope to hr all of you at Field Day. 73 Gregg W8GG
N2TNN - Bands were good with some QSB but all 40 meters. 73
KK4ITX - Worked 20 for 30 mins, no RBN hits. RBN in NH picked me up on 40m probably 60-70 miles away! Thanks to K1SN FOR HIS persistence with my weak signal and compromising antenna, he was my only contact. Heard others but unable to get a QSO.
WB1GYZ - Got two Meriden Amateur Radio Club members to try the Sprint, and they both signed up for a number.
KB1M - KX3 dialed down to 400mW, sadly sagging dipoles and a mustard seed measure of faith made a great evening of fun.
N5BO - Only had 30 minutes to participate, heard 4 stations on 20M, but was only able to work 2 of them! Thanks for the QSO's!
W1BRY - My First time
W2SH - In previous milliWatt sprints I ran 650 mW; here I upped it to 930 mW, but this boost didn't harvest many QSOs.
AK3X - Got in for the last 10 minutes. Only one contact. 40 was noisy. 72. Peter
N2YHQ - It was hard for other stations to hear my peanut whistle signal :-) but I enjoyed the event!.
WA1GWH - I operated 40m at 1W with a quarter wave inverted L over 16 radials in the lawn. Not too many ops heard from here in central New York. QSB pretty bad. Did manage 5 contacts during three short sessions in the sprint. Thanks for the contacts and listening hard!
K4WY - lucky to make a qso with a VE in relatively high QRN
N5GW - KX3 dialed down to 900 mW. Bands in generally poor shape propagation wise. Also only a few milliwatt sprinters heard.
VE3IIM - heard many calling, but too weak..Thanks for trying..
