SOAPBOX:

K4WY - Many called but only a few QSOs completed. Thanks to W4NLT who came in loud and clear for a solid QSO. Roughly 1 mw per mile tonight VT and NC. 72 K4WY

K9NUD - I gave it an hour and got more contacts than last week. I managed contacts in all three bands, and worked Steve (KC5F) on two. Rig tonight: KX3 @ 900mw using a cootie, efhw up 40'. Thanks for the great contacts!

KY0Q - Thanks for the Qs! ALways surprising when I get heard at 1W. Checked the RBN and spotted by 11 stations which surprised me. All Qs by calling CQ on 40M as the only others I called couldn't hear me. I don't use the paddle much and I swear I'll practice first before entering a Sprint again.

KC2EGL - Called CQ for an hour without any replies. Not one NAQCC signal. I heard a few other CW signals, but not many. I was so looking forward to this event. I guess better luck next time. 73 ex Merry Christmas de Michael KC2EGL

K3JZD - The NAQCC mW Sprint is typically one of my favorite events. But not tonight. Flooded 40m and 80m with my 900 mW for a little over an hour. But the grinch stole the propagation. K4 @ 900 mw to a dipole on 40m and a 107' EFRW on 80m. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. 72, Jody - K3JZD

KN1H - Tonight we are at City of Rocks State Park in New Mexico. Found space to run out a 55' end-fed wire which tuned up well on all three bands. Set the KX2 to 900mw and managed to work 3 stations on 20 and 40. Heard a couple on 80- KC9IL had a big signal- but could not make myself heard, alas. Thanks for the fun challenge! 72, John, KN1H/5

K3IY - Rig - TenTec Century 21; Key - Navy Flameproof. First time trying out the mW sprint and had a great time. Started out on 40m and yielded no contacts then switched to 80M and made 2 contacts. Switched back to 40M and it was still fruitless. Back to 80M and the band really picked up!

K2DEP - Incomplete QSO with KC9IL in IL @ 0210Z. He sent me a 559 on my little one transistor transmitter putting out 102mw. My xmtr went south before I could respond. It was fun because I have not played in a mw for a long time. I might have to drag out some of my old projects.

WG8Y - Hi all, Started on 40m but all I heard was hash. I even checked to make sure I had the correct date. Made my 1st Q at 0202Z. Worked 2 more on 40m. Decided to try 80m. Signal to noise was better for me. Worked 3 on 80m & pulled the plug. I used my KX1 with a tired 9 volt battery which equates to 700 to 800MW to old Ameco SK Been getting ready for a trip to Ohio for Xmas.Gonna leave Saturday the 20th and take 2 days days. Hope to work 3 or 4 POTA parks on the way up. Weather permitting. Hope to hear some of the group. Best 72 from N.C. Mark WG8Y Merry Christmas all

K1MZM - I heard absolutely nothing on 40 meters tonight but 80 was fairly active. Lots of weak signals as you might expect. Lots of fun.

AA2MX - I had to use my 5w QRP rig tonight, but I still enjoyed the contacts, hope I gave some of you points! Merry Xmas and Happy New Year

NA4O - Thanks Mark, WB9HFK! Even with just one QSO, the event is a success when I can get you in my log. So, I am happy with my 500mW effort tonight.

K9QEW - High noise levels on 40m tonight. TNX to WA4AAK for hanging in tough. 72 and 73s Daryl

WA4AAK - No mW Sprint stations heard on 80m or 20m, but made 2 contacts on 40 - Thank you, KN1H and K9QEW. I ran a TR-45L at 900mW to an EFHW antenna.

KC5F - Wow, has to be my lowest score ever for a mw Sprint. 1 on 20, a few more on 40 and the rest on 80. Worked K9NUD for my first two QSOs, and tried him on 80 but he couldn't copy me. N2TNN and KC9IL both on 40 and 80. Quite a slog for some QSOs. I hope my POTA activation tomorrow in GA at 20w is a little easier. But it was fun, as always. Thanks, all! - Steve in western NC

KC9IL - Pretty tough copy this evening for most stations. Ran the KX-3 at 1 watt to the G5RV at 45 feet. Thanks to everyone who hung in there with me. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all.

KN2G - Started 30 minutes late but still got one on 40 and 12 on 80. Some patient ops out there! Another amazing evening surfing the ether in the milliwatt dinghy! Merry Christmas to all and see you next year.

W4NLT - Action seemed to be on 80M. Nothing heard on 20M and only one contact on 40M. Noise was hard on my one good ear. Called a couple of stations but couldn't complete a QSO. TNX for the QSOs 72 Andy

K3RLL - Someone must have tripped the circuit breaker for 20m as it was really empty here. 40m had a little activity and some QRO stations in QSOx but was very noisy. Very happy to get my two contacts.

N7QR - 11th mW, first 1.5 hours, no joy, 20 and 80 dead, 40 no station responding to CQs and none heard. KX3@1W K1EL keyer in bug mode with BY1 paddles. Merry Christmas es CU next year. Russ Portland OR

NF8M - Well, I got out the KX1 set for about 800 mw, called CQ on 40 late in the session with no responses. Did hear a couple stations down in the noise but they went away before I could copy them. My KX1 doesn't have 80 meters so I listened on the TS590SG, heard KA2KGP and called him at 5 watts.as it won't go any lower.

WA2FBN - Only able to get on for last half hour. 72 Ken WA2FBN

VE3IIM - Nothing on 20 or 40 here. 80m was slow going, then picked up the last half hour..Some really good sigs!

KB2GKC - No snags on 40m tonight. It seemed 80 was the place to be with my new 80m endfed. thanks everyone K1MZM,K3IY, KA2KGP,N2TNN and KN2G.

KK4ITX - Tried 80/40/20 had one from PR (1212mi), Wp3S on 40m he just couldn't get the last letter of my Call. Absolutely nothing heard north of my QTH. I do not know what happens at night here in FL but it is consistently bad. Daytimes and POTA Hunting is super. Came that close to another 1,000mpw for my only contact!

N1BRL - great fun using my Cricket 40, it actually works

W8GG - Hello Fellow Sprinters ! WoW this was the 1st time i've been "skunked" in these sprints in 10 yrs! Bands were lousy ! I tryed CQ NA on all 3 bands for abt 25 mins with just noise in return. Heard some fox hunters at QRO power, but nothing else. Hope condx will improve for SKN. Hv a merry Christmas gang. 73 Gregg W8GG

N5GW - I heard a faint K9QEW on 20M at the start, and on 40M later, but he did not hear me. My only QSO was on 40M with KN1H who had a respectable signal for QRPp from NM. Otherwise I heard very little during about 45 minutes of listening on 40M. I suppose a combination of poor propagation and limited participation was responsible. Interestingly, on 40M there were some sort of strong digital-sounding signals about 7 kHz apart between around 7040 and 7050 kHz. That did not help any!

KA2KGP - 80m. was the best band this Mw Sprint. 20 was nil & only 2 on 40 with hi-QSB. Rig: IC-7000 at 1w. into G5RV up 20 ft. w/ straight key. Merry Christmas to all & 73 !

N2TNN - That was a real on 40 meters with all the gibberish QRM. 80 was very good and easy copy. Thanks for all you mW contacts. 72, Dean

WB0CJB - 80 and 40 meters were very noisy into TN. I heard K9QEW but was unable to make a contact. Hope everyone has a very merry Christmas and a happy new year! 73/72 de Paul WB0CJB

KA8VZB - I spent an hour on 40M with my Ten-Tec Argosy running 500mW but I seemed to be in a propagation hole. The only sprint station heard during the entire hour was KC9IL. Thanks Warren for my only OSO! 72, Joe

KB1M - Happy to make one QSO, thankfully the pipeline between NH and Daytona beach was somewhat open. Never got spotted on Reverse Beacon.500mW KX3.

NA1L - Had to decide which QRP rig to use. Yaesu FT-817ND or Elecraft KX-2. The only available power setting for the Yaesu that complies is 0.5 watts. Elecraft lets me adjust power below 1 W in one-tenth watt increments. Hmmmmmmm . . . 900 miliwatts would be a LITTLE better than 500 milliwatts. So, yep, went with the KX-2. 72 de NA1L

WB1GYZ - It's still fun to get together even if the bands don't cooperate.

KA1DBE - My first mW sprint. My trusty FT-817 at 1 watt. J-48a military straight key. Thanks for the Qs. See you next time at 500mW! 73/72

AK3X - Fun sprint. Participating in the QRP Fox Hunt on 40 meters and hearing neither Fox nor QRPp sprinters I dropped to 80 and managed a few sprint QSOs. I generally use a straight key for the sprint but somehow ended up using a bug.
